The Board of Directors have great pleasure in presenting the 42nd Annual Report on the activities of National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India Ltd. (NCCF) together with the audited accounts and report of the auditors for the year ended 31st March, 2007.
The Year in Review
The year 2006-07 has been a very remarkable year as the NCCF had to work under a changed circumstance when the special dispensation order of the Govt. of India for supply of stationery and order office use articles to the Govt. Department remained withdrawn completely. The loss in the sales was mainly on account of supply of stationery to the Govt. department which was around Rs. 200 crores for the year. The Govt. however, has restored this order in a modified form, from 06.07.2007and it is expected that the effect of this restoration could be felt in third quarter of the next financial year 2007-08.
The distribution of Coal, however, did not pick up as the Govt. was reviewing the distribution policy of the Coal. Final decision in this regard is still awaited. we have already moved the Govt. of India for involving the NCCF in the distribution of drugs and medicines in the country, as NCCF is running branches in all the state Capitals and important centers in the country. The involvement of NCCF in this work would help in maintaining the price line of essential drugs and curtail the flow of spurious drugs available in the market. A decision in this regard is still awaited.
At Bhiwani (Haryana), a 10,000 MTs capacity godown has been constructed by NCCF through CWC on cost plus supervision charges basis. The god/own has been taken on rent by M/s. CWC initially for a period of 5 Years. the Basement Portion of Okhla premises has also been put on rent for an initial period of 3 years. the annual rental from the two premises would be around 41 Lakhs.
